Shreya Ghoshal’s remarkable journey continues as she clinches her fifth National Film Award, delighting her fans once again with the news of her victory. The 69th National Film Award’s jury, on this Thursday, unveiled Shreya Ghoshal as the recipient of the Best Female Playback Singer accolade, attributed to her mesmerizing rendition of ‘Mayava Chayava’ from the cinematic masterpiece ‘Iravin Nizhal’. Over the years, Shreya has embellished her illustrious career with these well-deserved National Awards, commencing with her debut triumph in 2003 for the soul-stirring ‘Bairi Piya’ from ‘Devdas’, followed by the ethereal ‘Dheere Jalna’ (Paheli) and the soulful ‘Yeh Ishq Haaye’ (Jab We Met).

Adding to her accolades, the year 2010 witnessed Shreya’s unparalleled excellence as she secured not one but two National Awards for her enchanting vocals in ‘Jiv Dangla’ from Marathi gem ‘Jogva’ and the soul-stirring ‘Pherari Mon’ from the Bengali gem ‘Antaheen’. The National Film Awards, an esteemed institution since its inception in 1954, marks a pinnacle in the world of Indian cinema, with the awards ceremony culminating in the grand showcasing of these cinematic treasures to the public, a proud tradition graced by the Honorable President of India.
